L.O.C.A.L. Garden

Last Thursday, May 26 our first grade class visited the L.O.C.A.L. Garden here in Bath. The students had the opportunity to plant their sunflower seedlings into the specified spots at the garden. Previously in April, our class started the planting process in our classroom with planting the sunflower seeds. After a month of watering and sunlight the seedlings were ready for their journey to the L.O.C.A.L. Garden where they will live for the remainder of the year. The students loved this wonderful experience!

Bath Fire Department Visits First Grade!

Last Thursday, May 19 our first graders had special visitors that came to teach them about fire safety, our very own Bath Fire Department! Our kiddos not only got to learn the many important facts about fire safety but got to explore a ambulance and a fire truck! My first grade friends truly enjoyed this experience and are well prepared if a fire occurs. Thank you Bath Fire Department!

Celebrating Small Moments

Students in our First Grade classroom were very excited to share their Small Moment stories to their classmates last week. We just finished our first unit of our Lucy Calkins writing program, Small Moments and the students had the chance to publish their writing with a title page listing their title of their story, author and a beautiful colored illustration to match their story. All of the students did a great job listening and sharing their stories to one another.
