In the last month, as a First Grade team we worked on Science
Information Books about Liquids, Solids, and Gases. One of our recent
experiments was making snow ice cream. We investigated what components
we needed to make snow ice cream. As I introduced the students to snow,
vanilla abstract, sugar, salt and milk we started to classify within
liquids, solids, and gases which ingredient would fall where. We
continued the discussion as we added each ingredient to make the snow
ice cream and of course, taste test it! The following day we wrote the
science information book upon the topic. It was an enjoyable experience
had by all!
